Games You Were Addicted To

So what games did you get extremely addicted to when you were younger that it actually impacted your life?

I got really addicted to Runescape and Counter Strike 1.6.

Luckily my grades did not get impacted too much, but my sleep sure did. During summer vacations, I remember waking up around 10am and going to the computer to play counter strike. Next thing I knew it was 3am the next day.

...and I wasn't even that good... lol

Rock Band. 1, 2, and 3. Got a free copy of Blitz. So many 360 games where I only have 4 or 5 achievements and never finished (Shadows of the Damned being a pretty good example). All because of them skittles and my need to hit them.

2005, near the end of my last year of high school. I was addicted to a MMORPG game called MapleStory, that someone from VGDC introduced.
So addicted that when I finally decided to change my life around (2008), I ended up having back problems for life, with the end result of having Sciatica in 2015. During the time frame of 2008 up til now, I had an event when I couldn't stand for more than ten minutes, and events of me being bedridden four times, each where I cried and wanted death.
So yeah, health wise, it royally fucked me.

But hey! Because of getting into that soul sucker of a game, I was self taught how to make animated videos and made these gems and more:








That was a good trade off, r-right, guys?

My ex gf's brother dropped out of MIT (with a great scholarship) due to his addiction with World of Warcraft. He also destroyed his mom's $1k+ laptop because he punched the shit out of it when he got killed in the game. The mom still had to make payments on the laptop for like another year since she had bought it on credit.

I have a cousin who failed to graduate high school due to his addiction to Runescape. He eventually went to adult school and got his diploma though. Now going to some community college I think. So not too bad I guess...

Nah, seriously I haven't been addicted to a game so hard that it ruined my life or anything. I have played games or been on the computer so long that I missed school the next day though. But, can't blame it on one specific game or task.

I also had an addiction to COD: Modern Warfare 2 back in the day.
Funny enough, my gf (at the time) had randomly bought it for me when I mentioned I might buy it.
It eventually led to her getting annoyed cause I was playing too much 

I was even in a clan and was doing some competition thing (but we sucked lol).

We eventually moved to Black Ops but then the addiction completely died after that.

Nothing compares to my CS 1.6 and Runescape addictions though from my previous post.
