This was a nice thread last forum where we just post recent events in our lives, so here we go again!
My beautiful XBAWKS HUEG tv broke a couple days ago. Not my fault, the thingamajiggy that turns the backlight on is fucked (out of warranty, since it's been two years ). Buuuut my cousin joined the Navy, so I'm borrowing his. A Samsung. I think it's a 32-inch?
And, you know, this TV swap as well as playing a shitload of games on my PC this past year, I think I'm past the idea where I need a huge TV. I remember there was some research done on this, which got me thinking. The size of a screen when you're watching a movie or show or whatever doesn't really matter when you're focused on the viewing itself. Or immersed, in a sense. That's why it doesn't really matter to anyone if they're watching a movie on a gigantic projector in theaters, or on their smartphone. As long as it comes up clear, the size doesn't seem to be relevant to anyone.
Even so, I talked to a local repair guy. He said it'll take $120 in total to replace the thingamajiggy, which is totally worth it since the TV goes for nearly $700 still. I'll get around to that eventually.

Getting ready to build my new rig.
Bought a new 360 controller, it had a dual purpose for both 360 and Steam.
Today, I didn't do shit. Just enjoyed my Lazy Sunday.

I'm close, My CPU, w/ an aftermarket heatsink is coming this week(maybe Wednesday). Once that arrives, the rig will be COMPLETEEEEEEE.
Then payday Thursday, time to order an Elgato Capture Card.

I tried streaming a PC game today with an old headset I thought was damaged, but I was simply using it wrong.
Not only is it more comfortable than the wireless one I've been using (which is so stupid of me to even bother, because my tower is literally a foot away from me, and that isn't worth the electricity noise you hear through the headset that you can't really do anything about), but the microphone quality is a thousand times better. You also don't hear the fan very much in the background, so comfy-ass streaming is going to be easy-peezy. I streamed Hotline Miami 2's hard mode today. Took me about an hour just to clear like 4 stages. This is going to be fun.
I'm also going to start recording my friend and I play Left 4 Dead 2 again. Playing with literally one of the best players in the world is a real trip. Tearing through pubs, hack accusations, and amazing SI set-ups galore. Still, I should save that for the YT thread.

I'm going to RTX this year. I also learned that there is no direct flight from Connecticut to Austin, Texas. So...looks like layovers are the path for me come August. Still waiting for Rooster Teeth to deal out hotel offers. Otherwise, got my state return as well as a reimbursement from my car insurance which gives me quite a bit of money for the time being. Federal return is still on it's way.

If it were in Dallas, I'd also have a direct flight down there. Figures. I'm guessing Austin is a fair ways away for you.
