You know, I have to admit. I was at least a teeny tiny bit interested in this movie when it was first announced. Because I don't THINK this has been done before. Could be wrong.
But it was horrible. One of the worst movies I've seen in a while. Garbage story, horribly acted, and anyone that's used Facebook and/or Skype for more than an hour can see the thousands of faults with how they shot this movie.
I think I also realized there's nothing less scary than "a digital ghost."
This is probably the franchise that will replace Paranormal Activity. Can't wait for an entire franchise of this mess.
I also was highly interested in the movie because I thought it was a neat concept because it "hits close to home" (or something along the lines of that idiom, I dunno). I love the thought of things like that, something that makes you think twice on your daily activities, y'know?
But yeah, because it was a digital ghost, it just kills the whole vibe for me because the deaths were like quick glimpses or some shit, but I was still glued, as my friend sits next to me talking shit. We usually clown movies together, but I was hooked, and I can see the look on his face like "W-why you're not jumping in on this?". I even shushed him once.
Facebook, everyone uses/used Facebook, so you can kind of understand what's going on in the film. I never Skyped though but I get the gist of it.
Again, I only liked the concept of it, but eh.
Yeah, I also thought that this was going to be a thing too, but I am not aware of anything else that came after this. Now that you mention it, I do remember a film that released before this.
It's called "Smiley". I haven't seen it, but seems to be the same concept, except no digital ghost and different social media. If I can remember, I will watch it next time I'm chilling at my friend's.
"Who am I to tell you something that you already know?
Who am I to tell you 'Hold on' when you wanna let go?
Who am I? I'm just a sicko with a song in my head and it keeps playing again and again and again and again."
