Nah, fortunately there was no such private meeting. The entire process was done very formally. The position was posted on their internal jobs intranet page, anyone interested applied, a select few got interviews, and I got hired. The only thing I had to worry about was that I might possibly be not selected.
Right on, dude. That shows that you stand out amongst the rest. Hope that goes well for ya.
Anyways, I think I mentioned this earlier, but I'm not sure. I work for a vape shop in Northern California as general manager. I started in 2012 as the fifth employee my boss ever hired and we were only one store for the company in Los Angeles (though the company I work for was the very first vape shop in the nation that started in 2010), and now we have 5 locations up and running and I'm working at the one location we have in Norcal, which pretty much makes me the main boss of the area (only one above me is the owner of the company, guess that makes me a mini-boss). I've been working my ass off for the past 4 years doing it, and not gonna lie, I fucking love it. I have a lot of freedom compared to a corporate job, but also have a lot more responsibility. I've been on the news more times than I can remember as a representative of the Vape industry, and I've gotten a lot of experience managing a crew. I would list all of the things that I do for the company & location, but it would be such a long list that it would probably bore you guys. It's pretty much the main reason I never went back to making youtube videos/reviews that I used to do. 40 hours a week every week for 4 years doesn't leave me a whole lot of time to make anything substantial on the side. However recently, my schedule has changed around a bit so I now have three days off and am not missing out on much pay time so I can do something on the side, not really sure what though. Fucking love my job. It's the reason I'm living in the place I am now, but the process of me moving from L.A. to Norcal is a completely different story all on it's own because it kind of revolved around this crazy ex I used to have (Good riddance)
