Kenshi's Variations has been demo'd.
Balance Variation (if you know dick about Kenshi's gameplay in MK9, then the variation name is ironic).
The Balance Variation features Kenshi's MK9 specials, and nothing more.
The specials have new animations but most have the same job outcome like the previous game.
To note the difference between the MK9 and MKX versions however.
- The Rising Karma, in the Enhance version this time, the second hit has Kenshi's Astral uppercutting the opponent into the air for juggles.
In the MK9 version, it slams the opponent down with the sword on the second hit but it also pops the opponent up a little but you still have time to juggle.
The MKX version is better since the opponent has more height.
- Telekinetic Slice, I think it's a bit slower this time so you can't trap downed opponents.
In terms of specials in the Balanced Variation, Kenshi is still as good as his MK9 self if not better.
Possessed Variation, the only way I can describe it is being the same as his Balanced variation, but the Astral is replaced by a Demon and of course have different properties.
It seems that you cannot juggle from the equivalent version of the "Rising Karma" attack, maybe if you're in the corner however.
But overall, this Variation compensates for more damage.
And Kenshi teleports into the air near the opponent.
Kenjutsu Variation is also something to tinker with. He uses a sword in this and he has his Telekinesis abilities. The only way to get a Freebie would be to enhance a certain TK slam of his.
His X-Ray is amazing.
Sonya Blade Variations.
Overall for Sonya, she's more complex and a big learning curve compared to her MK9 self. A lot of people are actually upset by this. Fuckin' casuals.
Covert Ops.
Has her parrying attacks, which you have to follow up with button inputs to punish. She has an amazing Enhance parry where she hurricarana's the opponent that pops them up for juggles. Dick is diamonds.
Her Military stance is back for this Variation.
I love parry characters.
Demolition is an interesting one.
Nothing but grenade attacks.
She has three to use. And calls a drone to restock them (eh).
She throws and has the ability to make them explode early in the air.
Her grenade could also have a different property for stun.
Wake-ups makes her roll backwards and leave a trail of grenades.
Enhancing drone stock makes the drone shoot all three.
Enhancing grenade throw has her throwing all three and they explode in the air one by one.
She has a combo string which she throws and sticks the grenade on the opponent. That's awesome.
While I am very interested in this variation, my fear is not getting them grenades to hit. It's not that easy on a moving target.
So if anything, I'll just use them to combo into early detonation grenades instead of tossing them into the ground. I hope early detonation works on stun grenades.
Special Forces
Compared to the previous two, the community pretty much hates this variation.
She summons a drone and from there, button inputs make it shoot projectiles with different properties.
You can also make it commit kamikaze.
The plus side is that it can't be hit down.
I'm sadden at the lack of her Stun Kiss. It's instead replaced as a setup for her X-Ray parry.

Who am I to tell you 'Hold on' when you wanna let go?
Who am I? I'm just a sicko with a song in my head and it keeps playing again and again and again and again."
