So, I spent a lot of money on myself. I don't normally do that, but hey, I think I deserve to treat myself once in a while.
So, as you know, I'm going to RTX in August. Got the 3 day pass, which was only $70. I'll get that in the mail before I leave for it. I waited until hotel deals were made available. And last week, Rooster Teeth announced that deals were set up. So I waited. Then came word from them about how most of the deals had already been taken up and I decided to act. They had deals with both the Marriot and the Hilton. I checked both out for what I can get given my circumstances: traveling alone. Cheapest deal was the Hilton. So I booked it. The event starts on a Friday, so I figure I should leave on Thursday. The event ends on Sunday, so I'll leave on Monday. So...4 days. And the Hilton was the cheapest option of the 2. Almost $1000 later (Marriot was more), I got my room. All that's left, humorously enough, is my flight. Still have to book that and shop around for the best possible option. I personally prefer JetBlue, but they have no return flights available on Monday. So that's a no go. Tried AA and in a week's time, their prices skyrocketed. Gonna check again to see what's up. Apparently, Southwest has good deals all the time, but I have no experience with them, so I don't know how well the flights will be.
Just so you are aware, There are no direct flights from Connecticut to Austin, so finding flights with short layovers is equally important. I don't want to spend more than 90 minutes waiting to board my next flight. But soon, I'll have that booked as well. Then it's all a waiting game.
