Because they are.

But seriously, are you saying my criticism towards the shorts in Viral are not legitimate? I know we often have butting opinions, but I honestly think there's little to nothing that's worth appreciating in their shorts.

I agree with what you said. It's just if looking at "Dante the Great" and "Bonestorm" from a different outlook.
As a VHS film? Terrible.
Outside of VHS? Well...here's my opinion from the other forum.

Quote:Dante the Great
This would had been better fit if it was a full movie on it's own. Because of time, it's clearly shown how rushed it was, jam packing shots in too quickly at times and character development. I am confused at how there was film footage of scenes when there's no camera present at all....
The Swat team scene was awesome. The magician battle, however, nice concept, y'known magician battle, student vs teacher, but how it was carried out was...eh.
The problem I have with it, is that, the VHS movie vibe wasn't there, or at least what I perceived in the past films. So like I said, would had been great if it was it's own movie and better production value...and actors.
I kind of like it for what it is because it reminded me of gritty Marvel film, like I totally blanked out the whole "magician" thing and saw it as a guy with Telekinesis and more, doing cool stuff with his powers. Once again, if it was it's own film...
But the only horror thing about it was the last 10 seconds of the short.

Quote:Bonestorm
I like this segment the most because I'm a sucker for undead stuff, so this grabbed my attention when the big scene came.
Took a bit too long to get to the point, but I understand it's length just for character development, so you can get attached to the characters.
As simple as this short was...there was really nothing I hate about this. It was just ridiculous as fuck, but not in a total bad way for me. lol
...I mean, besides how unrealistic the whole situation was...such as the fact they stood there to fight, instead of skating the fuck away...
It left me leaving wanting to know what else happen to the kids before what happens at the very end of the movie itself.
+ It felt like watching a "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" film or something.

I really think you're giving too much credit to Dante the Great. I really don't think it can work as a feature-length film. Maybe something for Tales of the Crypt or, hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a comparable story in Are You Afraid of the Dark or Goosebumps.

As for Bonestorm, I like silly shit. Don't get me wrong. But "character development?" Give me a fucking break. There was no character development, those kids are just a bunch of brats. Nothing more, nothing less. If their intention was to make you care about a bunch of stupid skateboarders that won't shut the fuck up about nothing, they failed miserably. Not that it's easy to succeed that anyway, IMO. In fact, thinking about it, this is an equivalent to the short in the first film about McFuzzy the Killer in the forest.

Idunno, I would've forgiven it more if them fighting the spooky guys was actually entertaining. But it just wasn't for me, at all. I really do think it was given poor direction, especially since they thought it was a good idea to constantly cut to that kid's face. I really think that killed the mood because of those sporadic cuts.

Like I said, that short felt really rushed. Hell man, even you mention the lack of explanation of the cape. Just slow the pace, add some new information. Rework the story a bit...
As I already mention, better production and actors.

Fuck, there's going to be a Marvel "Dr. Strange" (he's a magician) film. Fuck if this bullshit can't work. lol

This is actually ridiculously funny.
There's like random ass moments that didn't need to be in there, but fuck if it didn't make me look at it with a stupid look on my face.

Friend had me come watch Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb with her. I enjoyed it. Ending was kinda sad, but it got happy.

These movies kinda made me appreciate Robin Williams's a bit more. Might have to watch more movies he is in.

Ghost Rider and DareDevil

Watched these back to back and noticed it was Directed and Written by the same dude...and after watching Ghost Rider, that's more than enough evidence for me to believe that Ben Affleck is not the reason why DareDevil sucked. I wish people would stop using that film as an excuse why Ben can't play Batman.

Ghost Rider
Jesus Christ, this guy fucked the story up more worst than Bryan Singer did with the X-Men franchise. I actually feel bad for giving Bryan so much shit now.
I mean, this shit is all fucked. The only thing accurate was the father dying of a motorcycle accident, the existence of Johnny Blaze's girlfriend, and Johnny making a deal with the devil. And seriously? Human Blackheart? Fuck outta here.

DareDevil
CinemaSins pretty much covered how I feel about this film and more.
Besides that, I'm mad to discovered there's a R-Rated version of the film which I lack.
Interesting note. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner became real life lovers two years after this film.

Dude, you don't get artistic integrity! Instead of being an alcoholic, he eats jellybeans from a martini glass! Because it's suppose to be a fun family movie (about demons murdering people).

GF picked it out, while browsing Netflix. She saw it already, and told me I would like it. I did, this movie was fucking awesome.

She did say that the sequel sucks and the remake, but I'm going to watch them anyway, when I have time.
