NIGHTCRAWLER

or as I would personally call it, the true second film of "American Psycho".
I really can't say much about the film, since it's 75% dialogue. But I find it to be a good movie.

FEAST

I expected a horror movie, but no, it's comedy horror.

Anyway...like most comedy horror.
Cheesy.
Over the top unnecessary amounts of gore.
Throw a little "sex sales" moments.
Insert awesome monster puppet that does things!

I stopped watching the film mid way. The introduction was a little neat though.

LAKE FEAR

Awesome trailer, right?
Yeah, fooled me and my friends too.

Movie production quality is that of an amateur whose going to film school.
Like some teenagers took a cam and said, "Hey, let's do some shit with it and we will put it on Youtube". And this is it.

When it comes to audio in terms of scary moments, you can tell the audio person was having too much fun and enjoyed what they did. Not saying it was grade A good, but I can just imagine the person's reaction when they sat down at a table thinking about the film and them going
"Yeah! I'm gonna ominous the fuck out of this movie!"
But I give them props, they might get somewhere if they kept at it.

Movie is about four yolo young girls going into a abandon cabin. Why? No reason. And then Evil Dead shit happens.

We stopped with 40 mins left of the film where shit just started to happen. But because there was a scene that dragged out toooo long, we immediately said "Fuck this". I'm gonna have to convince my friend to finish the rest.

Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser

[Image: MV5BNDcyODc2Njg5MV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwOTIw...SY720_.jpg]

Should've learned my lesson, this film went straight to Internet for a reason...Bad movie is bad.
The jokes were just terrible...and the worst part is that those jokes dragged out for toooooo long.
The Baby Delivery scene. The fart scene. The name dubbing scene.

Coincidentally all damn near spoiled if you actually bothered to watch the trailer, I say damn near because the delivery makes it, but there's a few bits where I did lol'd.
Joe Dirt's reaction when he saw his babies because it was more of forcing himself into the object than fainting. The airplane scene, although it could have been more funny if it was more "visual".
The Doctor scene. This was the most hilarious scene to me.
And Christopher Walken's laugh.

That's it. Oh and, I usually don't say this about actresses because movie magic and make up and stuff, but god damn Brittany Daniel is so fuckin' hot.

Story. Joe Dirt has a family of his own.
He goes into a trailer which a twister tosses his dumb ass to the Past...
....
....he's in the past...Spoilers, it's a dream! Seriously, don't watch this film.

Dead Rising: Watchtower

eh...

I do like the nods to the video game though...such as Frank West's office? being flooded with almost object from the game.

It left me a little confused near the end.

There's a zombie that looks like Chuck Greene in it.

I hated the GoPro cam shots...they really thought this would look good?

NARCOS

Binge watched NARCOS from Netflix yesterday. It was entertaining and I liked how it showed the story from the angle of the drug lords, the cops, and sometimes the random people of Colombia. Also, boobs.

Goodnight Mommy (2014)

Some of you guys may have heard of it, been getting attention on the sea of internets for the past month or so. One thing I'll say, the journalists writing about the trailer itself are complete retards. I'm convinced very few people know the difference between being 'scary' and being 'tense.' What they call "The scariest trailer of all time" (who knew this was even a category, right?!) is to a movie that isn't even scary. Is it tense? Yes. Atsmospheric? Yes. Suspenseful? Yes. Creepy as hell? Yes. But none of these are the same as being scary. I appreciate that someone showed me this trailer because of those idiot journalists, but holy shit they have the thinking skills of chimps.

Anyway, about the movie itself. It was a good watch, doesn't really bullshit around with useless information, leaves certain things ambiguous so they don't waste time, the acting feels natural, and the trailer is actually pretty misleading. About halfway through, the movie completely changes direction and keep you guessing for a while. Always appreciated. I don't want to spoil too much, I personally recommend it. Not the best suspense thriller I've seen, but definitely one of the most well done in a long time.

Ghenry, what are your thoughts on Dead Rising Watchtower?

Awful.

I'm considering making a review of it as a new part to my Retrospect, but I need to rewatch it (ugh) to see if I have enough to say about it.

Oh, you being a Dead Rising nut. I was hoping to read your thoughts about the film of a franchise you have knowledge of. Whether they did it justice or not.

Right of the bat though, I didn't get heavy into details of the film, such as cast and what not. But I saw the film not to long ago, and saw the protagonist, y'know, the one with the brown jacket. Immediately I thought he was Frank West. Looks just like the mofo, right? But I think it turns out that he had that style because he was inspired by Frank West.

Then you actually get to see the Frank West character in the film, who looks nothing like Frank West (imo). Whose a buffoon trying to sell a book. Is that really Frank West's persona?! Is he like that in the series?

The one thing I appreciated was the weapon cameos. Some signature weapons from the games were in the film, so at least that was fine. Otherwise, no. It did no justice. It was just another zombie movie. It was about as 'unique' as the 535 other zombie films that have been released in the past 20 years.

There's ways you can make a Dead Rising film that would simultaneously do it justice as well as help it stick out from the other zombie horseshit out there. But they didn't bother.

I think it was intentional to make that guy look like Frank West, . . . if he was 29 (he's 37 in the first game).

And, no. Frank West is nothing like that. Yeah, he's kind of arrogant, but he isn't like that at all. Rob Riggle is a funny dude, but his portrayal of Frank West was completely off. 0% of Frank's essence was in those scenes.

EDIT: OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GOOD.

Released my review on the V/H/S movies! Check it out, if you've seen them.

RE: Last Film(s) You Saw - WeaponTheory - 09-20-2015

Only watching it because the only thing you had to say about "Viral" was about agreeing how "Parallel Monsters" was the only short film to have the V/H/S feel. Other than that you called each short film "Retarded". I, however, appreciated a few segments from Viral though with an open mind.
